What We Do

Field-Ready Response When Your System Needs It

Heat trace failures don't wait for convenient timing. A tripped breaker in January, a failed circuit before a cold snap, a system that's been offline since the last crew touched it — these need a fast, skilled response from technicians who know the equipment.

Patriot performs all repair and maintenance work with our own certified electricians. We carry OEM parts for Thermon, nVent, BriskHeat, and Chromalox systems. Every service call ends with a written test report and updated as-built documentation.

What You Get After Every Call

  • Megger test results for every repaired circuit
  • Documented fault cause and corrective action
  • Updated panel schedule and circuit map
  • Photos of before/after condition
  • Thermostat and controller calibration log
  • Signed technician field report
  • Controls integration support via CIAC Systems where applicable
When to Call

Signs Your System Needs Attention

These are the conditions that warrant a service call. Don't wait until the cold season — most failures are detectable and preventable with a proper inspection.

Tripped or Overloaded Breaker

Repeated GFEP trips indicate ground fault degradation. Replacing the breaker without finding the fault location guarantees a repeat failure.

Failed Megger Test

Low insulation resistance readings on self-regulating or constant watt cable require cable section replacement before the next heating season.

Circuit Not Heating

No output on a functioning breaker usually means a splice failure, damaged cable section, or thermostat fault. We locate and fix the exact break.

Post-Construction Damage

Mechanical damage from scaffolding, insulation work, or construction activity is the leading cause of mid-season failures. Catch it before winter.

No Maintenance in 2+ Years

Systems without regular inspection develop silent failures — corroded terminations, degraded splice kits, seized thermostats. Annual testing prevents surprises.

System Modifications or Tie-Ins

New pipe runs, insulation changes, or process modifications may require circuit extension or load recalculation to maintain freeze protection.

Scope of Work

What Patriot Handles On-Site

Every repair is performed by our own licensed electricians — not subcontractors. We carry the tools, test equipment, and OEM parts to resolve most failures in a single mobilization.

01

Fault Location & Diagnosis

Time-domain reflectometry (TDR) and megger testing to pinpoint the exact fault location on any cable type or circuit length.

02

Cable Section Replacement

OEM-matched self-regulating or constant watt cable installed with factory splice kits. No aftermarket materials on critical circuits.

03

Splice & End Seal Repair

Failed power connections, splice kits, and end seals are the most common failure point. We carry complete termination kits for all major manufacturers.

04

Thermostat & Controller Service

Calibration, replacement, and setpoint verification for ambient, pipe-sensing, and line-sensing thermostats. Panel-mounted and field-mounted units.

05

GFEP Panel Troubleshooting

Ground fault location, panel testing, breaker replacement, and wiring correction for Raychem, Chromalox, and custom heat trace panels.

06

Insulation Coordination

We work directly with your insulation contractor to ensure cable is protected and accessible for future testing — no uncovered termination boxes.

07

Annual Inspection & Testing

Full-system megger test and thermostat verification before each heating season. Written results delivered same day.

08

As-Built Documentation Update

Every service call updates your circuit maps, panel schedules, and test records — so the next technician knows exactly what was done and when.

Service Structure

How We Work With You

Patriot offers both on-call response and structured annual maintenance programs. Most facilities benefit from a combination — a standing annual inspection with on-call coverage for in-season issues. This includes AI data centers and HPC campuses: liquid cooling infrastructure requires the same inspection, megger testing, and thermostat verification as industrial process piping — and most facilities have no maintenance program in place yet.

On-Call Response

  • Call-out for specific failures or issues
  • Emergency response available
  • Fixed-price or T&M depending on scope
  • Written field report after every visit
  • No retainer required

Annual Maintenance Program

  • Scheduled pre-season full-system test
  • Priority scheduling — no waiting in queue
  • Discounted rates on repair work
  • Cumulative test history maintained by Patriot
  • NERC-ready documentation package

Integrated Service Agreement

  • Annual inspection + on-call coverage bundled
  • Defined SLA response times
  • Includes minor repairs at no extra charge
  • Quarterly system status report
  • Best fit for multi-facility operators
